David Hubert Scarboro

Obituary: David Hubert Scarboro, 97, of Kannapolis, NC died on March 19, 2018 at Five Oaks Manor in Concord, NC. David was born on July 18, 1920 in Franklin County, GA, a son of the late Allen Bunyan Scarboro and the late Florence Huggins Scarboro. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Margie Helms Scarboro and a daughter, Denise S. Helms. David was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving as a medic during World War 2. He was a faithful member of Kannapolis Church of God and an agent for, Life of Georgia Insurance Company. Survivors include his son, Gary Scarboro (Shelia), his daughter, Cynthia Holder (Tony), by his grandchildren; Sandy McLean (Mitch), Mallory Burleson (Eric), Jennifer Hollis, Kendra Holder, Zach Scarboro (Megan), Kevin Helms (Brandy) and a son-in-law, Archie Helms (Donna). Also by his great-grandchildren; Joshua, Jayda, Ryan, Remington, Easton, Jaxon and Graham. The service for Mr. Scarboro will take place at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Kannapolis Church of God conducted by Dr. Greg Sloop. Burial will take place at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 before the service at the church. Memorials can be left at his church: Kannapolis Church of God, 2211 West A Street, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
