Obituary: Mr. David Lee Skidmore, 59, of Kannapolis died unexpectedly Friday, July 23, 2010 at CMC-NorthEast Medical Center, Concord. He was born January 28, 1951in Mecklenburg County, NC, a son of the late Holland J. and Rachel Tarlton Skidmore. David was a avid sports fan and loved to bowl. Even though he had no children of his own he considered his niece and nephew as his own. David worked 33 years at Cannon Mills Plt. #1 and later at DNP Industries of Concord. He was of the Baptist Faith. Funeral services will be 2:30 P.M. Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at Whitley's Funeral Home Annex Chapel conducted by Rev. Steve Pennington. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the Annex Chapel from 1-2:30 P.M. prior to the funeral service. At other times they will be at the residence of a brother, Danny Skidmore, 1315 Midlake Avenue, Kannapolis, NC. He is survived by his wife, Paula Jean Hobbs Skidmore, Brother: Danny(Tammy) Skidmore of Kannapolis, Sister: Debbie(Randy) Allmon-of Kannapolis, Nephew: Andy Allmon of Kannapolis, Niece: Danielle(Patrick) Price of China Grove. He is also survived by aunts, uncles and cousins. Memorials may be to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
