David Stavrakas

Obituary: David Bernard Stavrakas, 55, passed away suddenly at home on July 29th, 2012. Currently a resident of Concord, NC, David was convalescing after a long illness. He was born on June 28th, 1957 in Charlotte, NC. He attended Devonshire Elementary, Cochrane Jr. High and Garinger High Schools. He worked in various fields during his life. He was a cook at the White Horse Restaurant, a mechanical glazer and a graphic installer. "Big O" as his friends called him loved to fish, play golf, shoot pool and spend time with his friends. He was an avid NASCAR fan and loved the Carolina Panthers. The son of the late Bob and Ann Stavrakas, David follows his brother Bill in death by three days. David is survived by three brothers, Nick, Bubba (Pam) and John (Gina) all of Charlotte, four sisters, Nancy Keetch (Rodney) of Spokane, WA, Lynn Bumgardner (Bill) of Concord, Dolly Jackson and Nona Stavrakas of Charlotte. A service for BOTH brothers will be held Thursday August 2, 2012 at Whitley's Funeral Home 1748 Dale Earnhardt Blvd, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive visitors from 10am till 11am. Service immediately follows. At 11:00 AM.
