Dean Alvin Whitaker

November 14, 1938-January 3, 2021

January 3, 2020, our beloved father, brother and grandfather, was welcomed into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior.

He is preceded in death by his parents R. Vance and Carrie Whitaker, a sister, Peggy Holland and a son, Robert D. Whitaker.

He was the loving father of John A. Whitaker, Rose M. Ozuna (David) from Nevada and Elizabeth A. Whitaker from Arizona.

He is also survived by his sister, Cynthia Miller (Gene), a brother-in-law George Holland and his nephews and nieces all from North Carolina. Dean has 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Dean honorably served his country in the US Army.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Salisbury National Cemetery conducted by Rev. David Franks. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Rowan County Honor Guard and the NC Army National Guard.
