Obituary: Kannapolis - Deborah Leigh Fry of Kannapolis passed on Sunday March 15, 2009 at CMC NorthEast. She was born June 17, 1946 in Cabell County, West Va. She had formerly worked at Big Elm Nursing Center and Hunter Oaks as a nursing assistant. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:30 PM Tuesday March 17, 2009 at Whitley's Funeral Home Annex Chapel. Her funeral will follow at 7:30 PM in Whitley's Annex Chapel officiated by Rev. Buddy Thomas. Deborah is survived by a son Denver Scaggs and wife Pam of Kannapolis, a daughter LaDonna Kessler and husband Tony of Ravenna, Ohio, 3 grandchildren Lindsey, Larry and Denver Jr. , her sisters: Janet Keyser, Delores Lilly and husband Chuck, Linda Green and husband Art, Janie Federer and husband Bill, her brother Curtis Scarberry, also several surviving nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, the late Denver and Vesta Collins Scarberry, she was preceded in death by a grandson Nathan Scaggs, 3 brothers Richard Scarberry, Denver Scarberry Jr., and Stephen Scarberry, a sister Frances Fry, and brother-in-law Leonard Keyser.
