Deborah Jane (Lunsford) Gillespie

Deborah Jane Lunsford Gillespie, 71, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, went to be with her Lord from her home, on Tuesday morning, March 9, 2021, form natural causes.

Born November 17, 1949, in Cabarrus County, she was the daughter of the late Dorsey Lunsford and Mary Sue McDuffie Lunsford.

Mrs. Gillespie is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 51 years, Paul G. Gillespie, Sr.; her children, Lori Ann Gillespie Sherrill (Chris Russell) and Paul G. Gillespie, Jr.; her brother, David Lunsford; grandchildren, Whitney Sherrill and wife, Destiny, Nik Sherrill, Kayla Stewart and wife, Machaelee, Marissa Gillespie, Taylor “Lexie” Gillespie and Kristian Gillespie, and an honorary granddaughter, Ashley Boone; and her great-grandchildren, Riley, Maxie, Phillip, Jayden and Maicyn.

Deborah had a passion for reading, loved spending time with her family and enjoyed sitting under the carport listening to the birds, and watching the rabbits, squirrels and other animals that would come in the yard. Although in a better place today, Mrs. Gillespie will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her.

A memorial service to remember and celebrate the life of Deborah Gillespie will be held at a later date.
