Deborah S. Lowery

Obituary: Deborah Sue Lowery, 59, of Rockwell passed away Friday, October 21, 2011 at her residence following a period of declining health. Deborah was born on January 9, 1952 in Cabarrus County, the daughter of Melba C. Leonard Lowery and the late Everette Lowery.Deborah was a graduate of Appalachian State University, and received her Masters and Administrative Degree from UNCC. She has been a teacher since 1974, was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa professional teachers sorority and was awarded Kannapolis City School Teacher of the Year, 1995. She was a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church.In addition to her mother, Deborah is survived by a sister, Joyce L. Faulkenberry of Waco, NC, a niece, Samantha Faulkenberry Goins of Stanley, NC., two nephews, Jimmy Hinson of Rockwell, NC., and Matthew Faulkenberry of Gastonia, NC., and many friends and pets.Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 24, 2011 at 4:00 PM at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church with Rev. Jerry Hagler officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM Monday at the church prior to the services.
