Obituary: Deborah Lynn Smith, 69, of Asheboro, passed away, Saturday, July 16, 2016 at her home. She was born June 21, 1947 in Covington, KY to the late Arthur Shelanie and Janice Shelanie, Debbie was a native of Ludlow, KY and spent the past 24 years in Asheboro, NC she was a wonderful homemaker and caretaker of many children. She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandma, who enjoyed spending time at the beach, a lover of Elvis, watching I Love Lucy, and traveling with her husband. Her greatest joy was her children and grandson. Deborah was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Janice Shelanie, sister, Maureen Woodall, brother, Keith Shelanie. As well as her beloved dog Abby Lane. Those left to cherish her memory, her husband Samuel Smith, Jr. of the home, Children; Stacie Smith Fowler (Matt) of Kannapolis, NC, Matthew Smith of Belmont, NC, Grandson Ryan Fowler, Grand dog Bryson Smith, two nephews and two great-nephews. Memorial service will be held at 12:00 Noon Saturday, July 23 at Carolina Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with the Rev. Tom Cabaniss officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the home of Stacie and Matt Fowler in Kannapolis.
