Deborah “Debbie” Elaine Sansom, 65, of Kannapolis departed this life on Sunday, June 11, 2023. Debbie is preceded in death by her parents Roger and Sylvia Vint, sister Diane, brothers Curt, Herbie and PeeWee.
Debbie was born a true coal miner’s daughter on April 21, 1958, in Wharton, WV. She was born in a house full of love and warmth, the ninth of eleven rambunctious children (the sixth of six girls) to Roger and Sylvia.
Debbie had a joy of learning anything and everything that intrigued her. When not studying a random subject, she enjoyed crafting, quilting, crocheting, puzzles, true crime stories, bird watching, Stephen King and scary movies. Some of her crafts included handmade quilts and intricate Halloween costumes for her grandchildren. Even though her health prevented her from visiting family, she loved her family and really enjoyed giving them a hard time, usually while sitting around the dining room table. Her favorite expression was “I love you more”.
As one of her niece’s shared…
“She was always a safe place for me to go. Somewhere I would never be judged, always feel loved and close to my mommy and momaw. She never really understood what she meant to some of us…” - Ang
Left to cherish Debbie’s memory is her devoted husband, Willard Sansom.
