Debra Ann (Vickery) Baker-Cullen

July 30, 1956 — June 26, 2022

Charlotte

Debra was a southern California girl. She grew up in Orange County. Daughter of Lou Vickery and Florence Kelly. Her great passions were music and the ocean. She married after college and had two children Jon and Sara.  With a remarriage she completed her family with Rachel.  Besides her deep love for her children, she deeply loved those around her.

Life is not fair. Life can be filled with pain and sorrow and Debra had her share of both.  Yet she tried her best to learn from this life experience.  Because of her experiences she believed in reaching out to others in need and helping them too.

In the last year of her life, she had a lot of health issues and changes.  Finally, the pieces of the puzzle came together, she was diagnosed with a terminal cancer.  She fought through her symptoms but lost her battle peacefully and quietly surrounded by her family’s love and support.

A month ago she sent a friend a quote from a pendent she had – it said “Always remember you’re BRAVER than you believe, STRONGER than you seem, SMARTER than you think, and LOVED more than you know.”

Debra you are loved.  We know you had a deep spiritual faith and this faith carried you through your life.  You know who you are and where you are going.  You will be missed and we love you.

Friends are invited to a Celebration of Life for Debra onJuly 6, 2022 at Jetton Park Waterfront Pavilion in Cornelius, NC starting at 5:00 P.M.
