Debra Ann (Freeman) Galloway

Debra Ann Galloway, age 68, of China Grove, NC passed away on June 21, 2024.  She was affectionately known as Debbie, Mama, and Nana.  Debbie was born in Bangor, Maine on November 2, 1955 to the late Dorothy Ashby Freeman and Larry Freeman.

Despite her health challenges and physical limitations, Debbie maintained close, long-term friendships.  Even after they no longer worked together, her group of close work friends continued to celebrate birthdays and special occasions together.  She also enjoyed spending time at the beach and made memories there with family and friends.

Debbie will be remembered by her son, Brent Smith (Jennifer Smith) of China Grove, NC, and her daughter, Leslie Bryant of Charlotte, NC.  She will also be missed by her grandchildren, Steven Smith, Dylan Smith, Amara Leach, and Reed Bryant.  She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Bertha Ashby; her mother, Dorothy Ashby Freeman; her sister, Patricia Upchurch; her brother, John Reed; and her son, Cameron Bryant.  Her family finds comfort in knowing that she is no longer in pain and is reunited with her beloved son, Cameron.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Sunday, June 30th at 3 PM.  The service will be held at Fisher Street Baptist Church (810 Fisher St, Concord, NC) led by Pastor Joey Spry.  In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the American Stroke Association division of the American Heart Association.
