Debra Payne Savage

Debra Payne Savage, 65, of Mount Gilead, formerly of Kannapolis, went to be with her Lord, Thursday, February 6, 2025, at her daughter’s home.

Born September 1, 1959, in Cabarrus County, she was a daughter of the late Donnie Payne and Wilma Deas Payne. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Connie Jordan.

Debra was a graduate of South Rowan High and had retired from the City of Concord planning department, after many years of loyal service. Debra loved the beach, loved fishing and adored her family, relishing the time spent with them. A loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, she will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her.

Loving family members include her children, Crystal Cline (Steven), Lisa Hudson and Amanda Jones (Carwyn); her grandchildren, Amity Ellis (Jake), Robert Braylon Hudson, Kaden and Kaleb Cline, and Easton, Abigail and Noah Jones; 4 great-grandchildren; her brothers, Joey Payne and David Payne (Ellen); nieces, nephews and extended family members.

The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 pm on Sunday, February 9th at Whitley’s Funeral Home. Funeral services to remember and to celebrate Debra’s life will begin at 3:00 pm, in the funeral home chapel, conducted by her son-in-law, Pastor Steven Cline.
