Also preceding her in death was one sister; Virginia Ward Beaver Scercy, five brothers; Basil Brown Beaver, Glenn Elwood Beaver, Jay Felix Beaver, Harry Lee Beaver, and C.L. Beaver, parents; Jeremiah Julian and Sallie Lillian Patterson Beaver, paternal grandparents; John Peter Alexander and Catherine Alice Correll Beaver, maternal grandparents; John Robert and Emmiline Richie Patterson. Mrs. Garmon's life began on March 6, 1915, growing up before our day of modern conveniences. One of her fondest childhood memories was riding in a horse drawn wagon to church revivals in the surrounding area. She came to know the Lord in a brush arbor revival near her home around the age of 15. The experience profoundly changed her life and future as well as the lives and futures of her posterity. Mrs. Garmon retired from China Grove Cotton Mill at the age of 69. She was a great cook and loving caretaker of a large family. She had been a member of North Kannapolis Wesleyan Church for 52 years. One of her greatest joys was attending Avon Park Camp Meeting in Avon Park, Florida, which she faithfully attended for over 25 years. She will be remembered for her convictional faith in the Lord Jesus, her dedication to her church, and her faithfulness to pray for the salvation of each member of her large family. The family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home, 1748 Dale Earnhardt Blvd., Kannapolis, NC 28083 from 6:00PM to 8:30PM on Monday, February 25, 2013. A service of remembrance and celebration will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at North Kannapolis Wesleyan Church with Pastor Steven Cline officiating. Rev. Steve Beam and Rev. Jesse Garmon will assist. Her body will lie in state 30 minutes prior at church. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove. Flowers will be appreciated.
