Delores Kiser

Obituary: Mrs. Delores Hardin Kiser, 82, of Kannapolis went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at Tucker Hospice House following a period of declining health. She was born November 2, 1930 in Rutherford County, NC a daughter of the late Ernest Perry Hardin and Esmer Sprouse Hardin. Mrs. Kiser attended Winecoff High School. She was a member of West A Kannapolis Church of God where she had served as a Sunday school teacher. She was formerly employed in advertising with the Independent Tribune prior to opening the Dee's Ready to Wear Fashions. She sold her shop when her late son Bobby was injured in a diving accident. The following 24 years were devoted to her son's care. She was lovingly called "{Nana" by the grandchildren whom she cherished and dearly loved. Graveside services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, May 24, 2013 at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis conducted by Rev. Sam Crisp. The family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home one hour prior to the graveside service. At other times they will be at the residence. Her husband, Robert Calvin "Bud" Kiser preceded her in death on March 20, 2012. Also preceding in death were a son, Robert Blane "Bobby" Kiser, three brothers, Carl, Charles and James Hardin and two sisters, Mary and Sue Hardin. Survivors include her son: Rick (Valerie) Kiser of Kannapolis, two brothers, Donald Hardin of Landis and Gaines Hardin of Kannapolis, two sisters, Faye Hardin of Florida and Evelyn Pennington of Charlotte, four grandchildren: Sara, Stephen, Seth and Shea Kiser. The family would like to express their thanks for the care and concern given to Mrs. Kiser by the staff of Big Elm Retirement Center and Tucker Hospice House during her illness.
