Obituary: Kannapolis, NC Denise Lorraine Kiker Russ, 49 died Wednesday, March 09, 2011 at CMC-Northeast, following a brief battle with cancer. Denise was born January 10,1962 in Cabarrus County, daughter of Lawrence Kiker of Concord and Doris Medlin Kiker of Kannapolis. She was employed with Terry Products until their closure. She was employed with Kid's Corner as a teacher in pre kindergarden for the last four years. She attended Grace Baptist Church. Denise was a loving mother to her children-which were her life. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 12, 2011 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel conducted by Rev. G.W. Sloop. The family will receive friends Friday 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. At other times they will be at the residence. Interment will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, March 14, at the National Cemetery in Salisbury. Her husband, Johnny O'Neal Russ preceded her in death November 11, 2009. She is survived by two sons, Andrew Russ and Nicholas Russ, a daughter, Kelly Russ, all of the Home. Four brothers, Mike Kiker of Landis, Mark Kiker of Mooresville, Mitchell Kiker of Salisbury and Marshall Kiker of Kannapolis. Whitley's Funeral Home is serving the family of Mrs. Russ.
