Obituary: Dennis Lynn Bryant, 71, of 12024 Furr Rd. , Stanfield died Wednesday Dec. 2, 2009 at the home of his daughter, Gina Blackwelder. He was born January 29, 1938 in Laurens County, Ga., the son of the late Jack Bryant and Hattie Mae Peck Bryant of Stanfield. He was also preceded in death by a son Rory Bryant, two sisters Patty and Debbie Bryant and a brother, Gerald Bryant. He was a veteran of the US Army from 1955-58. He loved reading western books, loved to travel and horseback riding. The family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home Annex Chapel from 5 to 7 PM on Friday, Dec. 4, 2009 and from 5 to 7 PM on Saturday, Dec 5, 2009. At other times they will be at his daughter's home 1275 Midlake Ave. Kannapolis, NC. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughter, Gina Blackwelder and husband Larry of Kannapolis, his 4 sons: Robbie Beresh-Bryant and wife Cindy of Cullecoka, Tn., Ricky Bryant of Stanfield, Dwayne Bryant of Stanfield, and Darrell Bryant and wife Mandee of Kannapolis, 9 grandchildren, 2 sisters Sandy Floyd and husband Ray of Stanfield and Jane Burnett of Gainesville, Ga. , and 4 brothers: Jackie Bryant of Dublin, Ga., Keith Bryant of Stanfield, Eddie Bryant of Asheville and Joe Bryant of Gainesville, Ga. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28083.
Visitation: 5:00 to 7:00 pm, Friday, December 4, 2009, and 5:00 to 7:00 pm, Saturday, December 5, 2009. at the Whitley's Funeral Home Annex Chapel
