Dennis Wayne Rorie

Obituary: Dennis Wayne Rorie, age 60, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 4, 2013 at his home. He was born on February 13, 1953 in Sumter County, SC, the son of the late Earl Thomas Rorie and Patsy Ruth Smith Rorie. He attended A.L. Brown High School until 1971. In earlier years Dennis was employed with the former Cannon Mills Company, Plant One, Packing Dept. for 13 years. Later, he worked numerous jobs throughout the years. He is fondly remembered as an avid NASCAR racing fan and for his love of Charlotte Panthers football games. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at a later date. Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Diane Blake Rorie; a daughter, Amy Elizabeth Green of Chester, VA; a son, Dennis W. Rorie, Jr. of Kannapolis, NC; one brother, James Thomas Rorie & wife, Tammy of Kannapolis, NC; a sister, Georgette (Dykie) Hinson & husband, John David of Concord, NC; one step-son, Christopher Russ; and one grandson, Zachary Green.
