Obituary: Dennis Lee Starnes, age 55, died unexpectedly on Friday, September 30, 2011 at CMC-NorthEast, Concord, NC.He was born June 1, 1956 in Cabarrus County, NC, the son of Braxton Lathan Starnes, Jr. and Louise Poteat Starnes. Dennis was a 1974 graduate of A.L. Brown High School, Kannapolis, NC and received his bachelor's degree at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.Dennis was employed as an engineer with Baxter Healthcare, Marion, NC for the past three years. Prior to that time he worked with the former Cannon Mills Company in the engineering department for 22 years. He loved photography-a very special passion in his life. Dennis was a devoted father who loved meeting people. He enjoyed listening to different types of music all of his life. The funeral service will be held at 4:30 P.M. Sunday, October 2, 2011 at Memorial United Methodist Church, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Jim Brookshire and Rev. Andy Langford. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 3, 2011 at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:30 P.M. Sunday at the church prior to the service.In addition to his parents survivors include his wife of 24 years, Bobbie Louise (Lou) Russell Starnes; his son, Lathan A. Starnes of the home; his daughter, Leah Russell Starnes, a student at N.C.
