Obituary: Derald Monroe Wright, 68, of 2157 Sheffield Avenue Kannapolis, NC died Monday Sept. 28, 2009 at the Tucker Hospice House. He was born January 5, 1941 in Cabarrus County, the son of the late Robert David Wright and the late Margaret Moon Wright. He was educated in the Kannapolis City schools. He was employed in the trucking industry until retiring in 2004. He was a member of Centerview Baptist Church. His service will be 11:00 AM Thursday at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Willie Rash and Rev. Raymond Davis. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 PM Wednesday at Whitley's. At other times they will be at the residence. He is survived by his wife Janet Bass Wright, two sons: David J. Wright and wife Emily of Mooresville, and Jason L. Wright of Kannapolis, his 2 grandchilden: Meredith and Thomas Wright, his brother Kenneth Wright and wife Rita of Bessemer City, his three sisters: Brenda Farris and husband Bob of Kannapolis, Regina Duncan of Concord, and Patty Wentworth and husband Cy of Columbia, SC, and aunts, nieces and nephews.
