Dewey Harrington

Obituary: Dewey Harrington, 99, of Kannapolis passed away on Friday, September 6, 2013 at Tucker Hospice House after a short illness. Born March 5, 1914 in Stanly County, he was the son of the late J.E. and Minnie Harrington. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Virginia Harrington, two brothers, one sister and an infant daughter. He was employed with Cannon Mills # 1 Weave room for 53 years. He was of the Baptist faith. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, Sept. 9, 2013 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Weldon Key. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM prior at Whitley's. He is survived by a son, Lynn Harrington of the home, two granddaughters, Lisa Craig (Russ) of Columbia, SC and Kim Chamberlain of Farmers Branch, Tx., four great grandsons, two great-great granddaughters and one great-great grandson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
Visitation: 1:00-2:00 PM, Monday, September 9, 2013 at Whitley's Funeral Home.

Service: 2:00 PM, Monday, September 9, 2013 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment: Carolina Memorial Park Mausoleum.
