Dewey Thomas Young, Jr.

Obituary: Dewey Thomas Young, Jr., 91, of Kannapolis, NC passed away at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis on Dec. 10, 2017. Mr. Young was born on Nov. 30, 1929 Oglethorpe Co., GA, a son of the late Dewey T. Young, Sr. and the late Suzie Gladys Burnette Young. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Young who passed away in March, 2016 and by sisters and brother; Dorothy Y. Lowder, Montene Y. Bonds and Billy Young. Mr. Young was a truck driver for Akens Motor Line for 40 years. He is survived by his son, Mike Young (Cathy) of Kannapolis, two grandchildren; Allison Young and Kevin Young (Meagan), a great-grandson Keegan Young and a sister, Camilla Young Stirewalt. The service for Mr. Young will take place Tuesday, Dec. 12th graveside service at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove conducted by Vicar Vern Kinard. Entombment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friend at the mausoleum from 2-3:00 before the service.
