Diane Therrell Overcash, 58, of Kannapolis, passed away October 25, 2021 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center after a period of declining health.
She was born on March 4, 1963 in Iredell Co., a daughter of the late David Therrell and Mrs. Sherry Green Therrell of Kannapolis. In addition to her father, Diane is preceded in death by her brother, Clay Eugene Melton and her sister, Julia Melton Sloop.
Diane was a life-long area resident and longtime member of Piedmont Baptist Church. She graduated from S. Rowan High School in 1981. In earlier years, Diane was a data entry clerk for various local businesses and auto dealerships.
She loved her family and her church family. Her smile and laughter were what defined her. Diane enjoyed making her own Christmas decorations because she loved to decorate for the holidays, especially Christmas. It was her favorite seasonal activity. All her family had to help. She also loved to capture family memories from trips, events and holidays with numerous photos and videos. Diane loved to take trips to the mountains with her husband, Tommy. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Diane will be dearly missed.
Diane is survived by husband of 33 years, Tommy Overcash of Kannapolis; her mother Sherry Green Therrell; her son, Todd Alan Overcash (Amanda), her daughter, Melissa Lamb (Bryson) all of Kannapolis; her son Bill Lowery (Jennie) of Mooresville, 8 grandchildren; Paisley and Parker Overcash, Kristen and Ashton Lamb, Evan and Jonah Lowery and Emily and Natalie Meehan. Also surviving are her sister, Jan Sides and Randy of Sherrill's Ford, her brother Donald Melton of Rockwell and Carl Therrell of FL.
A funeral will be held Thursday, November 4th at 7:00 PM at Piedmont Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Edwards officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday, November 4th from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the church before the service. Burial will be at 11 AM Friday, November 5th, at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.
