Obituary: Diane Williams, 70, of Kannapolis died unexpectedly at her home on Monday, March 14, 2016. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 5200 Rocky River Rd., Concord, 28025 at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 19 with Ron Irvin officiating. Private burial of cremains will follow. Diane was born July 27, 1945 in Mecklenburg Co. NC, a daughter of the late Lee A. and Phyllis Benfield Harris. She was a long-time area resident and a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses, attending the Kingdom Hall in Concord. Diane was formerly employed by Scholastic Book Fair in Charlotte, retiring in 2010. Her family will always remember and appreciate her giving spirit. Diane put others needs above her own. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She will be dearly missed. In addition to her parents, Diane was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Williams, Sr. Those left to cherish her memory include her children; Richard Williams, Jr. of Rocky Mount, Melanie Hartsell of Mooresville, Jeff Williams of Supply, NC and her grandchildren; Justin Williams, Sabrina Williams, Brittany Brettin, Carrie Cook, Brian Williams, Marcus Williams and Brianna Williams, great grandchildren; Dreidyn("Moon pie"), Konner and Scarlett Brettin and Cadence Cook.
