Diane Elizabeth (Cooper) Winecoff

Diane Elizabeth Cooper Winecoff, 77, of Kannapolis, went to her heavenly home on Monday, August 7, 2023.

Diane was born on November 28, 1945 in Cabarrus County to the late Dewey Cooper and Flora Smith Cooper. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David Raymond Winecoff Jr.; sister, Brenda Eudy, and a brother, Larry Cooper.

Diane worked as a knitter at Cannon Mills Plant #1 and Plant #6. Diane was lovingly devoted to her family and was a devout Christian. She was a natural caregiver her whole life and raised many nieces and nephews along with her children. She selflessly took care of many other family members over the years. She was very sweet and compassionate and always made everyone feel welcome in her home. It was a home filled with love, music, and happiness. She enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, cake decorating, and spending quality time with her late husband, children, and family. She was known for her pound cakes and chocolate pies that she made from scratch. She also enjoyed traveling across America and going sightseeing. She was truly a wonderful wife, mother, sister, daughter, and friend and will be dearly missed.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, David Raymond Winecoff III; daughter, Trina Diane Winecoff; sister, Sharon O’ Kelly; brothers, Ronald Cooper and Steve Cooper; sisters-in-law, Linda L. Winecoff and Sara L. Rodgers; and several cousins, nieces, nephews and beloved friends.

The family will receive friends at Whitley’s Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 12, 2023. The funeral service will follow in the chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Eddie Cook and Rev. Ronnie Cooper officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service at Carolina Memorial Park.
