Dizzy Dean Nave, Jr.

December 5, 1954 — January 1, 2021

Concord

Concord, NC – Dizzy Dean Nave, Jr., 66, passed away Friday, January 1, 2021 peacefully in his sleep at his home.

Born on December 5, 1954 and raised in Mauldin, SC, he was the son of Dizzy Dean Nave, Sr. and the late Jacquelynne Coyle Nave.  Mr. Nave was retired from his years of service at Michelin Tire, a doting father, and dedicated grandfather to his grandsons.

He is survived by two daughters, Casey Nave Cox and her husband, Adam, of China Grove, NC, and Tiffany Robbin Nave of Mauldin, SC; his father, Dizzy Dean Nave, Sr. of Mauldin; two sisters, Deborah Burnett (Dean) of Simpsonville, SC and Belinda (Ray) Sullivan of Belton, SC; and three grandsons, Jacob, Evan, and Lucas Cox.

Grandpa was our rock.  He was extremely shy upon first meeting, but once comfortable he was ready to chat the day away. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, and he taught us how to be comfortable in uncomfortable situations like in the woods, with firearms, and on the water.  He was an amazing cook, and we can still taste our favorite rice & gravy and personalized birthday cakes that we will try our best to replicate. After hearing upon the arrival of his first grandson, he immediately retired and followed his baby girl to North Carolina to ensure he had a relationship with his grandchildren, who were most certainly the lights of his life.  Every baseball game, school project, production, hunting adventure, fishing trip and wrestling match he could attend, Grandpa was always there cheering with a smile on his face for his boys.  He taught us what is like to be truly selfless and to love without end, Amen.
