Obituary: Dollie Louise Costner "Granny" Moffitt, 93 of Kannapolis, died Friday, November 18, 2011 at Universal Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Concord following a period of declining health. Mrs. Moffitt was born on August 5, 1918 in Lincoln County, NC a daughter of the late Tally and Donnie Holt Costner. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Robert Lee Moffitt (1984), a sister, Addie, brothers, Virgil, Harvey, Elv, Ray, and Carl, grandsons, Terry and Steven, granddaughter, Susie, great grandson, Dillon, and son-in-law Roy.Dollie retired from Cannon Mills where she was employed as a spinner.She is survived by 3 sons; Bill Moffitt (Penny) of Columbus, GA., Robert Moffitt (Frances) of Kannapolis, and Jerry Moffitt (Deb) of Salisbury, 5 daughters; Maxine Burgess of Troutman, Patricia Aldridge (David) of Salisbury, Louise Moffitt of Kannapolis, Robbie Blevins (James) of Kannapolis, and Phyllis Lisenby (Floyd) of China Grove, a sister; Mode Walker and brother Bob Costner both of Morganton, 33 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren.Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 21, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel with Rev. Mike Hubbard officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Monday at the funeral Home.
