Obituary: Dominik Sloop, age 18, died unexpectedly on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at CMC-NorthEast, Concord, NC due to an unknown heart condition.He was born April 17, 1993 in Gaston County, NC, the son of Steve R. Sloop, Jr. and Brandi Lee Sloop. Dominik was home-schooled all of his high school years and played football for the Cabarrus Stallions.Dominik was involved with his church and loved to hang out with his friends. He had a smile that no one could resist.A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, October 1, 2011 at South Concord Church of God, 765 Main Street, Concord, NC officiated by Rev. A.M. Stevens, Jr. Burial will follow at Kannapolis Cemetery, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends at the church Saturday prior to the service from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 P.M. Survivors in addition to his parents include his brother, Tavarus M. Sloop of China Grove, NC; two sisters, La'Cree M. Johnson of Kannapolis, NC and Mackenzie L. Sloop of China Grove, NC.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the South Concord Church of God, 765 Main Street, Concord, NC 28027 to offset funeral expenses.
Visitation: The family will receive friends at the church Saturday prior to the service from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 P.M.
