Donald Christy

Obituary: Mr. Donald W. Christy, 73 of China Grove, NC died at his home on Friday, September 6, 2013 after a seven year battle with prostate cancer. Mr. Christy was born on September 21, 1939 in Iredell Co., the son of the late Wade S. Christy and the late Lena Goss Christy. He was a self-employed painter and attended Harvest Community Church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Survivors include his wife, Lillian Christy, three daughters; Marie C. Roberts (Don) of Mooresville, Teresa Farmer (Randy) and Lisa Church (Bruce) both of Kannapolis; a granddaughter, Amy Farmer, 3 grandsons; Jesse Hawks, Alex Hawks and Garrett Hawks; 2 great grandchildren; Bishop Napier and Brent Raper, 2 brothers; Earl Christy (Evelyn) of Kannapolis and Raymond Christy of Wilmington and a sister, Audrey Plott of Kannapolis. The service for Mr. Christy will be held at 2:00 p.m., today (Sunday) September 8th at Harvest Community Church conducted by Rev. Jeff Burris. Burial will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove, NC. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30-2:00 before the service. At other times will be at the home of a sister, Audrey Plott at 7883 Howard Ave., Kannapolis.
