Obituary: Donald Ray Cline, 65, of Concord died Saturday, March 10, 2012 at CMC-NE following a period of declining health. He was born on July 7, 1946 in Cabarrus County, a son of the late Elmer Gordon and Hattie Ermalee Edwards Cline. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Jane Cochran. Donald was currently employed by Stanley Black & Decker as a forklift operator and was previously employed by Cannon Mills for 38 years. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Donald enjoyed fishing, gardening, and his grand-dogs, Precious, Prissy and Sweat Pea, and spending time with his family. He frequently attended Elwood Lane Freewill Baptist Church and Miami Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Whitley's Funeral Home main chapel with Rev. Robert Howard and Rev. David Parrish officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park with military honors. The family will receive friends from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at Whitley's Main Chapel. At other times the family will be at the residence. Donald is survived by his wife, Vickie Overcash Cline, a daughter, Donna Rae Cline Argo (Eric) of Raeford, a son, Barry Lee Cline (Tina) of Concord, grandchildren, Ivy Argo O'Brien (Paul), who is expecting the first great grandchild, Andrew Scott Argo, Lillie Allmon, and Charlie D. Allmon, a brother, Guy G. Cline (Carol), a sister, Nancy Christy, special nieces, Rena Hartsell and Teresa Eudy, and several additional nieces and nephews.
