Donald R. Goodman

Obituary: Donald Ray "Don" Goodman, 76, of Kannapolis died Oct. 9, 2011. He was born Oct. 4, 1935 in Cabarrus County, the son of the late H.W. and Louise "Jake" Cline Goodman. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise Jordan Goodman and a sister, Nancy Sue Linker. He retired from Cannon Mills Plant 1 #1 cloth room. He was a veteran of the US Army serving from 1954-57. He was a member of Brookdale Baptist Church. In his earlier years he was an avid softball player and coached women's softball teams in the area for many years, as well as being an avid baseball fan. Graveside services will be held 1:00 PM on Monday, Oct. 10th at Carolina Memorial Park officiated by Rev. Ronnie Goodman. He is survived by two sons, Randy Goodman of Troutman and Keith Goodman and wife Terri of Kannapolis and 2 grandsons, Baker and Jordan Goodman.Memorials may be made to Northwest Cabarrus High School Booster Club, % Baseball program, 5130 Northwest Cabarrus Drive, Concord, NC 28027-7624.
