Donald Ralph Puntch

Obituary: Kannapolis, NC- Donald Ralph Puntch, age 79, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2013. He had been in declining health for several months. Don was born on October 6, 1933 in Mooresville, NC, the son of the late Ralph O. Puntch and Mary Kathryn Sechler Puntch. Don is survived by his brother, Leslie W. Puntch & wife, Gail of Kannapolis, NC; a niece, Robin P. Rainbolt & husband, Ricky of Charlotte, NC; and will also be missed by longtime friends, Dr. Linny Baker, Ken Argo, Mark Dixon, Don King, Phil Johnson, and Michael Pendleton. Don was a member of The Living Church of God in Charlotte and will be greatly missed by all of his church family. Don graduated from A.L. brown High School, class of 1952, and attended High Point College from 1952-1954. He was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha. Before his retirement from Discovery Place in 2009, he was the Director of the North Mecklenburg YMCA in Cornelius in the late 1970's. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Mr. Bob League. Burial will be at a later date. The family will receive friends 1:00 to 2:00 P.M.
