Donald Lutrell Starnes

Donald Lutrell Starnes, 75, of Kannapolis died shortly after 2:00 PM on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011 at Rowan Regional Medical Center. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Starnes, two stepsons, Bobby  and Billy Hartsell, nieces, Norma Pichardo, Marianne Meyerholtz, nephew Travis Starnes, granddaughters Leighanne Smith, Alisha Doby, greatgrandchildren Justin Chapman, Andy and Lacie Sullivan, Trevor and Devin Doby, Patrick and Tyler Chapman, great-great-granddaughter Natalee Chapman. He was retired from Cannon Mills where he worked over 30 years. He was a veteran of the US Air Force. Donald loved to draw and he loved airplanes. He was our beloved “papaw”. Funeral services will be private. and Whitley’s Funeral Home handling arrangements.
