Donald Gilbert Sturgis

Obituary: Donald Gilbert Sturgis passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at his residence. Mr. Sturgis was born in Rock Hill South Carolina to the late Andrew Donald and Sybil Jones Sturgis. Donald was of the Presbyterian faith; he loved playing golf, riding motorcycles and eating good food; He would fix anything that was broken, and was a supporter for Relay for Life. Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Jill Sturgis; three sons, Jeff Sturgis (Debbie), David Sturgis (Kristi), both of Rock Hill, SC and Adam Sturgis of Concord, NC; two daughters, Donna Westmorland (Doug) and Dawn Westmorland (Robbie) all of Rock Hill, SC; mother-in-law, Carol Whitley of Kannapolis; and his former wife, Pat Reeves of Rock Hill, SC; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. A memorial service will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday, December 13, 2013 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rodney Taylor officiating; Burial will be private; the family will receive friends 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
