Donald E. Wagstaff

Donald E. Wagstaff, Jr, 76 of Kannapolis entered the Church Triumphant Tuesday March 4, 2025 at Atrium Cabarrus. He was born July 23, 1948 in Concord to the late Don Wagstaff, Sr and Pearl Watson Wagstaff.

Don attended NC State, served in the United States Coast Guard as the navigator on a Sea/Air rescue team. He graduated from UNCC with an accounting degree in 1974. He received his CPA certification in 1976. Don was a divisional comptroller with Cannon Mill Company until 1985, when he left to start his own CPA practice. In later years he was involved with rental property and real estate development.

 Don's math and logic ability was extraordinary and his love for "a deal" led him to pursue ideals that were fresh and unique.

He is survived by his high school sweetheart, who he married in 1969 and they have one daughter Tiffany Wagstaff of Concord. All who all knew Don, knew Tiffany was the light of his life.

Don was a generous, fun loving highly intelligent man and lived his life wide-open. He looked for adventure and learning new things, traveling to new places and meeting new people.

His favorite Bible verse was Matthew 25:40. The King will reply, Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me. This is the way he lived his life.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Woolwine, his wonderful and caring nephrologist for many years. Also, his dialysis nurses Kelly, Meg, and Krista who he affectionally called his kidney girls.

Peggy and Tiffany also send heartfelt thanks to the nursing staff and doctors on ICU2 at Atrium Cabarrus. Their care, compassion, and skill is nothing less than remarkable.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to nkfnc@kidney.org. There will be a celebration of life at Calvary Lutheran Church on March 19, at 2:00 p.m. with a reception from 3-5 in the Church Fellowship Hall.
