Obituary: Donie Haywood Eudy, 84, of Kannapolis, died Sunday, November 27, 2016 at her residence at Big Elm Retirement Home after a period of declining health. Her funeral will be held at Whitley's Funeral Home at 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 29 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronald Tucker officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 AM before the funeral, at Whitley's Funeral Home. Donie was born November 20, 1932 in Waxhaw, NC, a daughter of the late Vernon O. and Ida Mae Bost Haywood. She was the last surviving sibling of 9 children. She was a long-time area resident. Donie was a loving and devoted homemaker for her husband, Harold Richard Eudy, who died in 2009. She was greatly loved by her numerous nieces and nephews. Donie is also survived by 2 sisters-in-law, Lennie Haywood of Kannapolis and Maxine Haywood of Landis. Her family wishes to express their gratitude to the nurses and staff at Big Elm Retirement Home for their loving care shown to Donie and family during her time there.
