Donna Marie Nicastro

Donna Marie Nicastro, 66, of Kannapolis, went to her heavenly home on Monday, August 14, 2023.

Donna was born on September 17, 1956, in the Astoria neighborhood of Queens, New York City.  She was the cherished daughter of the late Thomas Nicastro and Edna Mae Nicastro.

From her earliest years, Donna was an avid reader who loved books and movies, and music, and art. She also loved her family and her beloved dog Butchie (and Snoopy) and fellowship with her church family and dark chocolate and tea and soup and spicy food and turquoise and jewelry and handbags and the American Southwest and horror movies and Luther Vandross and George Michael.

After living in New York, Donna spent many years in South Florida and then North Carolina.  With her outgoing personality and hard-working attitude, Donna made quick friends and forged long-lasting relationships wherever she went.

Family members left to cherish her memory are her devoted son, Nicholas Rufin, brothers Tom Nicastro (Vicky Nicastro) and Paul Nicastro (Sara Nicastro), nieces Amanada and Brenna, and her extended family and friends.

The family will gather privately to remember and celebrate Donna.
