Donya Lachelle Carpenter Mccoy

Obituary: Donya Carpenter McCoy, 41 of Landis passed away on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at CMC-NorthEast in Concord. Her death follows a period of declining health. Donya was born on January 29, 1973 in Cabarus County a daughter of Carl (Spanky) W. and Shelby Lynch Carpenter of China Grove. Donya was working as a CNA with Rowan County Bayada and was a para professional with Easter Seals UCP of NC. She was a softball mom and a member of Revolution Church of Kannapolis. Donya enjoyed working with the elderly and handicapped children. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband; Andy McCoy of the home, daughters; Leah and Brooklyn Elizabeth McCoy both of the home, a sister; Dia B. Stevens of Kannapolis, her grandmother; Ruby Carpenter, her mother-in-law; Linda McCoy of Salisbury, and father-in-law Max McCoy of Indian Trail. Services celebrating Donyas life will be held on Sunday, May 18, 2014 at 3:30 PM at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel with Pastor Keith Kannenberg officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM prior to the services on Sunday at Whitley's. Burial will take place on Monday, May 19, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Salisbury National Cemetery.
