Obituary: Dora Elizabeth Canup Mann, 96, of 1400 Birch Street, Kannapolis died on Monday, Sep. 16, 2013 at CMC-NorthEast in Concord. Dora was born on Dec. 26, 1916 in Cabarrus County, the daughter of the late Hauley Canup and the late Lillie Canup. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Homer Mann; her 2 sons, Robert E. Mann and Carl J. Mann, Sr. She is survived by a son, Jack F. Mann; she was the loving, nurturing grandmother of 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great grandchildren. The funeral service for Mrs. Mann will take place at 11:00 am, Thursday, Sep. 19, 2013 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Dr. Terry Mann. Burial will take place at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home from 6-8:00 pm, Wednesday, Sep. 18th. The family wishes that memorials be left to Whitley's Funeral Home so distribution can be made to local organizations dear to Dora's heart.
