Doris Elaine Little Canup

Obituary: Doris Elaine Little Canup, age 82, was received into the arms of her Lord and Savior Thursday, December 8, 2011 at the home of her son, Donnie Canup, after four months of illness. She was born July 21, 1929 in Cabarrus County, NC, the daughter of the late Ralph L. Little and Ersell Lee Love Little. In earlier years she worked for the former Cabarrus Memorial Hospital as a nurse's aide. Later, she was employed with the former Pillowtex Corp., Kannapolis, NC, Plt. #1 Wash Cloth Dept. for over 40 years. She was a beloved member of Piedmont Baptist Church, Kannapolis, NC. Her family fondly remembers her love for playing the keyboard. She read the Bible daily until her passing. She also loved sewing as a special hobby. Doris was devoted to her family that she loved very much. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by a son, Tony Canup and a sister, Audrey Spears. The funeral service will be held at 2:30 P.M. Sunday, December 11, 2011 at Piedmont Baptist Church, Kannapolis, NC NC officiated by Pastor Michael Edwards. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:30 P.M. Sunday at the church prior to the service. Survivors include four sons, Ricky Canup & wife, Linda of Kordova, W. Va; Donnie Canup & wife, Mollie, Jeff Canup, and Darell Canup, all of Mooresville, NC; two daughters, Valerie Williams & husband, Lonnie and Kathy Chester & husband, Steve, both of Mooresville, NC; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and one brother, Bill Little of Hickory, NC. Memorials may be made to Piedmont Baptist Church, 5870 Wright Road, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
Visitation: The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:30 P.M. Sunday at the church prior to the service.

Service: The funeral service will be held at 2:30 P.M. Sunday, December 11, 2011 at Piedmont Baptist Church, Kannapolis, NC.

Interment: Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC.
