Doris (Crowder) Cauble

June 13, 1947 — December 7, 2020

On Monday, December 7th 2020 Doris Crowder Cauble, loving wife and mother passed away at age 73.

Doris was born on June 13, 1947 in Kannapolis, NC to H.J. “Red” & Lavonia Crowder.  The youngest of 5 children, she was raised in a loving house by hardworking parents and siblings.  She graduated near the top of her class at A.L. Brown High School and received her undergraduate degree from UNC Charlotte.  Doris worked for the City of Charlotte’s Engineering Department and IBM’s Technical Education Division.

Doris married her high school sweetheart Boyd Cauble in 1966.  This union fostered her passionate love for family and her Christian faith.  She always met friends and neighbors with a smile and a story.  Doris loved music and was an avid reader of inspirational quotes and literature.  Her favorite was Maya Angelou’s “I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.”

Doris took this to heart and was always quick with a sincere compliment and warm hug.

Doris is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Boyd F. Cauble, her parents, and her brothers Earl Crowder & James Crowder.  She’s survived by her brothers Harold Crowder of Kannapolis, Tommy Crowder of Star, sister Mary Scott of Kannapolis, and son, Boyd “Bo” Cauble II of Charlotte.
