Doris Sharlene Ward Efird

Obituary: Doris Sharlene Ward Efird, 80, of Davidson, NC went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 1, 2019 at Curis Concord Health and Rehabilitation. Sharlene was born September 4, 1938 in Lincoln County, NC a daughter of the late Hugh and Monnie Queen Ward. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Buren Boger Efird, a daughter, Theresa Cline, and a grandson, Randy Cline. Sharlene was a member of Poplar Tent Presbyterian Church where she was a Sunday School teacher for many years. She was a retired LPN, having worked at Cabarrus Memorial Hospital for many years and later at local nursing homes. She was an avid reader. Sharlene loved her Lord and her family, especially her great grandchildren. Family members left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Sherrie Efird and Kellie Hensley both of Davidson, grandson, Chad Cline (Lindsey) of Davidson, one great granddaughter, Alicia Cline and two great grandsons, Hunter and Riley Cline. Memorial services will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Poplar Tent Presbyterian Church conducted by Rev. Charles D. Hensley. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home Friday, April 5, 2019 from 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. At other times the family will be at the residence of a daughter, Sherrie Efird.
