Doris H. Holloway

Doris Rose Hoffner Holloway, 90 of CHINA GROVE, NC.

Born January 28, 1935, to the late Victor Leslie and Gaither Viola Hoffner ran into the arms of Jesus April 19, 2025. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, James V. Holloway Jr. and three of her children. Doris was the last remaining of eleven siblings born and raised in Rockwell, NC. Growing up, she learned a love for music and became a talented organist and pianist.

For more than 50 years she shared her talent with many, by providing music at numerous churches, weddings and funerals. In her life Mrs. Holloway accomplished many things including becoming a very skilled seamstress. She loved to travel enjoying it most when her grandchildren could tag along. She was very proud of her authored book Becoming Grandma the Great. She leaves behind her legacy in her one living daughter; 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. 

A celebration of Doris’s life will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 1:00 PM, at Whitley’s Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 11am. Family request to refrain from wearing black and instead brighten the room with color.
