Doris Lucille Wilkinson Leazer

Obituary: Doris Lucille Wilkinson Leazer, age 83, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at Liberty Commons, Salisbury, NC after a period of declining health. She was born July 14, 1931 in Rowan County, NC, the daughter of the late Willis Arey Wilkinson and Mary Miller Wilkinson. Doris was also a 1948 graduate of Landis High School. In earlier years Doris was employed with the former Cannon Mills Company in Kannapolis. Later, she worked as a make-up consultant for Estee Lauder and Belk during the 1980's. Her family fondly remembers her genuine love of raising them as a "working farm family." While her husband, Jack, and the children did farm chores every morning, she would get her family fed and off to school on a regular basis. Then, at two o'clock, would prepare her husband's clothing to get him ready to go to work at Cannon Mills. She also found time to enjoy gardening, growing flowers, and loving her pets. Although a long-time member of Concordia Lutheran Church, China Grove, NC, she still found time for circle work and other activities there. At times in her life, she was a devoted school parent volunteering at different times and serving with the PTA for her children. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Junior (Jack) Leazer. The funeral service will be held at 3:30 PM Sunday, February 15, 2015 at Concordia Lutheran Church, China Grove, NC officiated by Rev. Kenneth Reed and Rev. Larry Bost. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:30 PM Sunday at the church prior to the service. Survivors include her two sons, Eric Steven (June) Leazer of China Grove, NC; Christopher Allen(Heath Ramsey)Leazer of Raleigh, NC; her daughter, Sherrye Leazer Allen of Charlotte, NC; two grandchildren, Elizabeth Allen (Adam) Sutton and Jonathan Allen; and Doris' companion, Clyde Huntsman of Kannapolis, NC.
