Doris Ludwig

Obituary: Doris Vinson Ludwig, 89, of Kannapolis passed away August 19, 2018. She was born October 26, 1928 in Rowan County, a daughter of the late James Oliver (J.O.) Vinson and Pearl Dotson Vinson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Buster (Boe) Ludwig in 2006, two sisters, Carolyn Curtis and Frances Marlowe and a brother, Joe Vinson. Doris was a barber/stylist for over 30 years where she worked at El Toro's and Hair Masters, prior to that, she worked for Cannon Mills. She was a member of Bethpage United Methodist Church for close to 60 years. Doris loved working in her yard, playing Bingo and spending time with her grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 PM Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2018 at Whitley's Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Bethpage United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Doris is survived by her daughters, Vicki L. Evans (John) of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Cheryl Yutzy (John) of Mooresville, grandchildren, Sarah Crowley (Ben), Melissa Bailey (Steven), 8 great grandchildren, Grace, Isaac, Elijah, Everette, Owen, Linnea, Ava, Gavin and 4 sisters, Martha Strube, Betty Osborne, LaVerne Stamey and Faye Hargett.
