Doris A. Yoder Sims

Obituary: Kannapolis, NC, Doris Agnes Yoder Sims, 83 of Kannapolis died Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at her residence following an extended illness. Mrs. Sims was born on April 15, 1928 in Cabarrus County, NC, a daughter of the late Jones Franklin Yoder and Ola Ruth Kiser Yoder. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Billie Fisher Sims Sr. who died in 1969.She retired from Fieldcrest Cannon in 2003 where she had been employed in the set dept. and was a lifelong member of Kirkwood Presbyterian Church.She is survived by two sons, Keith and Billy Sims of Kannapolis, a brother; Myron Yoder of Landis, a sister; Phyllis Calloway of Concord, two grandchildren; Melissa Morgan of Gastonia and James Sims of Kannapolis, four great grandchildren; Kenzie and Jasmine Sims and David and Matthew Morgan.A memorial service for Mrs. Sims will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 2, 2011 at Kirkwood Presbyterian Church with Rev. Debra Madden officiating. The family will receive friends following the memorial services at church. The family suggest memorials be made to Hospice of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
