Doris Wyatt

Obituary: Doris Weaver McNeil Wyatt, age 87, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at her home. She was born April 5, 1929 in Cabarrus County, NC, the daughter of the late Charlie Luther Weaver and Ellen Ross Weaver. She moved as a teenager to North Wilkesboro, NC and returned as an adult to Kannapolis in later years. In earlier years Doris worked for a hosiery mill and the former Cannon Mills Company in Kannapolis, NC. She later became a nursing care assistant working for the former Cabarrus Memorial Hospital. Throughout the latter years she enjoyed being a homemaker and spending time with her family. She also spent much time with activities at her church, Enochville Church of God, Kannapolis, NC. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husbands, Jesse James Wyatt and Willard G. McNeil; and ten siblings; Jenny, Dorothy, Pearl, Sis, Rose, Marcella, Roy, Facen, Did, and Homer; and a son-in-law, Dr. Dan Page. The funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 1:30 PM Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Enochville Church of God, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Carl Fosdick. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove, NC. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM Thursday at the church prior to the service. Survivors include her children, Linda Wyatt Page; Greg McNeil (Carmen); Chris McNeil (Jeannie); and Jeffery McNeil (Wanda); her grandchildren, Chris Jr., Amy, Stephanie, Lindsay, Alisha, and Jeremy; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Boyce Weaver (Betty).
