Obituary: Kannapolis- Dorothy "Dot" Holshouser Brock, 86, passed away Wednesday morning, September 26, 2018, at CHS-Northeast Medical Center, following a period of declining health. Born August 3, 1932 in Cabarrus County, she was the daughter of the late Charles Columbus Holshouser and Donnie Pearl Fink Holshouser. In addition to her parents, preceding her in death were her husband, Leroy Brock; and her brother, Charles Columbus Holshouser, Jr. Dot was a 1952 graduate of J.W. Cannon High School and had retired after more than 46 years of loyal service from Cannon Mills/Pillowtex, where she was on order coordinator. Mrs. Brock had attended Blackwelder Park Baptist Church and was an awesome cook. She enjoyed card games and also being on Facebook. A loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Mrs. Brock will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Loving family members left with cherished memories include her children, Jeffrey Brock of Kannapolis, Danny Brock and wife, Teresa, of Greentown, IN, Donna Brock Nicholson and husband, Eddie, of Kannapolis, and Dale Brock and wife, Anita, also of Kannapolis; her grandchildren, Chris Brock (Jenna), Stephanie Purdy (Nick), Amber Brock Faulkner, Miranda Pressley (Josh), Jordan Nicholson, Keshia Criscoe (Zach), Kirsten Bullock (Nick) and Dylan Brock; 7 great-grandchildren; and her sister-in-law, Helen Holshouser. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm, Monday, October 1, 2018, at Whitley's Funeral Home. Funeral services to remember and celebrate the life of Mrs. Brock will begin at 1:00 pm in the funeral home chapel, conducted by Dr. Steve Davis.
