Dorothy Garrison Buck

Obituary: Dorothy Garrison Buck, 89, passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Liberty Commons in Salisbury. Mrs. Buck was born March 2, 1923 in Iredell County to the late Harvey and Alice McGee Garrison. She was married to the late Joe L. Buck who preceded her. She was a member of Christian Fellowship in Kannapolis, worked for Fieldcrest Cannon Mills, and later years worked as a nurse's assistant. She was a loving mother, grandmother that showed kindness and compassion to all. Survivors include two daughters, Carol Helmandollar (Bill) of Rockwell, and Sharon Buck of Charlotte, NC; a son, Lester Buck of China Grove, NC; six grandchildren, Mason Helmandollar, Steven Helmandollar, Billy Helmandollar, Lisa Helmandollar, Julie Steeley, and Jared Buck; many great-grandchildren, and a sister, Vivian Beaver of China Grove. She was preceded in death by a brother, Herman Garrison. A funeral service will be held 3:30 P.M. Sunday, January 6, 2013 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tim Newton officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:30-3:30 p.m. prior to the service on Sunday at Whitley's Funeral Home.
