Obituary: Dorothy (Dot) Grayson Caton died at Tucker Hospice House on July 14, 2013. Mrs. Caton was born on May 11, 1928 in Kannapolis, North Carolina to the late Lina Dwiggins Grayson and the late X.E. Grayson. Mrs. Caton graduated from J.W. Cannon High School in 1945 and worked for most of her career in the Cannon Mills cotton purchasing department with her husband, Charlie. She was a life-long member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Mrs. Caton is survived by two sisters, B.J. Kincaid and Phyllis Watson, nieces and nephews, Kim Kincaid Cook, Leigh Watson Garmhausen, Bill Griggs, John Watson, Lynn Grayson and Gene Griggs, and many cousins, great-nieces and nephews, and several great, great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Kenneth Caton, her brother, Hoyt Grayson, her sister, Faye Griggs, and her niece, Carla Kincaid Sloop. The family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home from 1:30pm to 2:45pm on Wednesday, July 17, with a service to celebrate her life at 3pm in Whitley's Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family expresses their gratitude to the wonderful caregivers of Hospice & Palliative Care of Cabarrus County and Tucker Hospice House, and to her devoted neighbors and bridge club members.
