Obituary: SALISBURY - Dorothy Fay Eagle Chambers, "Aunt Dot," 83, of 2900 Mt. Hope Church Rd., and formerly of 2311 Lane St., Kannapolis, died at her home on Saturday, March 14, 2009. Born on September 20, 1925 in Salisbury, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Baxter Chalmers Eagle and the late Minnie Emma Bostian Eagle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Harold Chambers, who died on March 24, 1994. "Aunt Dot" had worked for Cannon Mills Co., working in the # 6 weave room in plant # 1. She was a member of Center Grove Lutheran Church where she was active in the WLCA and the Senior Club. She was a graduate of Parks School. Survivors include a number of nieces, nephews and a host of friends. The funeral service for "Aunt Dot" will take place at 4 p.m. Monday, March 16 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by Rev. Maurice Staley and Rev. Jonathan Eagle. Interment will follow at Center Grove Lutheran Church Cemetery in Kannapolis. The family will receive friends from 2:30-4:00 p.m. at Whitley's Funeral Home before the service. At other times, the family will be at her home, which is also the home of a nephew, Bradley Eagle, at 2900 Mt. Hope Church Rd. in Salisbury.
